On July 12th, 2025, Peter Behm was officially inducted as District Governor of Rotary District 9815, alongside his partner Gail, at a special ceremony held at Pakenham Racecourse. The event was attended by Rotary clubs from across the district, celebrating this significant leadership transition.
As District Governor, Peter will lead more than 80 clubs and 2,400 Rotarians, guiding and supporting them throughout the 2025–26 Rotary year.
Reflecting on his appointment, Peter shared:
“It’s an enormous honour to lead this great district, and I look forward to an exciting and impactful year ahead.”
A key focus for Peter’s term will be raising the public profile of Rotary, which he describes as “the world’s best kept secret.” To address this, the District will implement several initiatives, including:
- New external signage in local townships and at Rotary venues
- The creation of a dedicated marketing team to support clubs in strengthening their outreach
- Partnerships with local primary schools to promote community engagement from an early age
- The development of innovative club models to attract and engage a broader range of volunteers
Peter is also a proud and active member of his local Rotary club, Noble Park – Dingley —an organisation he values deeply for its friendships, shared values, and community spirit.
With energy, vision, and a collaborative approach, Peter’s leadership promises a dynamic and inspiring year for District 9815.
